OBJECTIVE:
LA FIBI FLAMENCO carries the traditional aesthetics and way of life of flamenco to share
with the public today and tomorrow, by promoting the understanding of flamenco culture and
it’s arts. Phoebe Vernier “ La Fibi ”, teaches the next generation of flamenco artists by offering
classes, and professional on stage opportunities. She also tours with dance companies,
teaches dance workshops nationally, and performs and produces flamenco performances.
QUALIFICATIONS:
LA FIBI FLAMENCO collaborates with and is supported by two major flamenco organizations,
FLAMENCO UNIVERSAL of Sonoma County, and SF FLAMENCO, serving the greater San
Francisco Bay Area Flamenco community. Phoebe, as director of LA FIBI FLAMENCO, has over 25
years of experience studying, performing and teaching, ranging throughout the U.S.A and
extensively in California. She has worked with an international cast of flamenco’s greats
including La Monica, Joaquin Encinas, La Tania, Maria" Cha-Cha " Bermudez , The Sol y Luna
Band, Christo Cortes, Antonio De Jerez, Guillermo Rios, Rubina Valenzuela, Jesus Montoya,
Miguel Linares, Ottmar Liebert, Jesus Torres, Arcadio Marin, Rosa Montoya, Maria Benitez,
Soledad Barrios and Isabel Bayon. Ms. Vernier has the distinct honor of being one of the only
two, flamenco dancers featured on the cover of DANCE MAGAZINE.
Over the course of more than two decades of immersion in the art form, she has developed a
reputation as a powerful, dynamic dancer, as well as a supportive and strong backup
percussionist (palmista) for dancers and musicians. She is known for her talent, generous team
spirit, and flexibility as an artist.
